Welcome to Stamford Dyslexia

How can Stamford Dyslexia Help?

Stamford Dyslexia can support parents of dyslexic learners in Stamford, Lincolnshire and Cambridgeshire who may be concerned that their child is either not being identified as dyslexic or, once identified, is not receiving the type or amount of specialist support that they feel is appropriate to their needs.

Stamford Dyslexia gives parents of learners aged 7 to 15 access to a professional opinion when needed, and provides assessment services to supplement help provided in school.

The diagnostic process enables an understanding of a pupil’s unique dyslexic profile, helping them to recognise their strengths and aptitudes which can support their journey to achieve their potential. In our diagnostic decision, we aim to reflect the ‘whole person’ we assess, whilst also exploring their individual needs.

A diagnostic decision of dyslexia should be seen not as ‘a label’ but rather as facilitating change, empowering the individual to use their strengths and understand their weaknesses. Finding learning styles that suit them best and suggesting strategies to support them with their difficulties will be valuable whilst in education and also for their future.
