The services offered by Stamford Dyslexia are provided by Jenny Murray, a highly qualified specialist teacher/assessor with experience of working with dyslexic young people in primary and secondary settings.
Trained as a primary teacher at De Montfort University, Jenny qualified with a Batchelors of Education [Hons]. Deciding to specialise in working with young people with dyslexia and related SpLDs, Jenny subsequently gained a Masters in Specific Learning Difficulties (Dyslexia) from University College London.
An associate member of the British Dyslexia Association [BDA], Jenny is certified by the BDA to teach and assess those with dyslexia [AMBDA]. She is a full member of the Professional Association of Teachers of Students with Specific Learning Difficulties [Patoss] and holds an Assessment Practising Certificate [APC] authorising her to provide diagnostic assessments for Disabled Students’ Allowance [DSA].
Jenny holds enhanced DBS clearance issued by the Government’s Disclosure and Barring Service. Her role as Special Educational Needs Co-ordinator in a primary school, together with continuing professional development, ensures that she is fully up to date with current practices and requirements, and is able to advise parents regarding all areas of support for pupils with dyslexia and related specific learning difficulties.
